Are you looking for an opportunity to bring your knowledge of warehouse and distribution operations to a brand-new role with a fast-growing, exciting business?  Do you want the opportunity to set up, shape and develop the company’s logistics, warehouse and distribution processes at a new site?

Biercraft established in 2013 sources and delivers the best craft beers available to leading restaurants, bars and independent retailers.  We are in the process of moving into an 8000sq ft temperature-controlled warehouse in Park Royal and are looking to appoint a Warehouse & Logistics Manager to lead all storage and delivery operations to customers in London and across the south east. 

 

The Role

You’ll work closely with the senior management team and your peers across the business, leading and developing an efficient and cost-effective warehouse operation across all activities - inbound, storage, stock management and stock rotation, pick, pack, dispatch and delivery.  You will proactively manage a team of warehouse staff and delivery drivers, providing effective leadership and ensuring the team is engaged, motivated and empowered to deliver an excellent service to your customers.  You’ll be responsible for the following:

 

  • Proactively managing all aspects of the day-to-day warehouse and delivery operation

  • Managing and developing your team, identifying training opportunities and ensuring all team members are clear on role responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Utilising inventory and routing software to ensure the best possible service to customers

  • Effective stock management and rotation

  • Promoting and maintaining excellent Health and Safety standards

  • Managing all facilities at the site - ensuring a tidy, well-run operation at all times

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Previous experience of managing fast-paced warehouse operations (FMCG, retail, food, drinks)

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operational best practice

  • Proven people management skills – able to motivate, engage and lead a team confidently and effectively

  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice for warehouse operations. ideally – knowledge of HACCP principles and applications

  • Good knowledge and experience of stock control processes

  • Excellent planning and organisational abilities

  • Excellent IT skills – previous experience of ERP / stock management systems and, ideally, route-planning software

  • Collaborative working style, able to work cross-functionally across the business

  • A really positive, can-do approach; able to work both strategically and in a hands-on way to support your team and the operation in a small but growing business

  • A current FLT license is desirable

  • Previous experience gained in the beer / drinks sector would be an advantage
